Everything we know so far – and where to get the updates.
From January 2026, it will be mandatory in Italy: POS devices must be directly connected to the fiscal printer.
The regulation applies to all businesses that accept electronic payments – regardless of size or sector.
Don’t worry: we’ll keep you updated here on the blog.
Why all this?
With this measure, the legislator pursues several goals:
- less tax evasion
- more transparency in transactions
- a further step towards the digitalization of the payment process
Concretely, this means: every card payment is automatically recorded in the fiscal printer and, together with the digital receipt, sent directly to the tax authority – without detours, without gaps.
The catch: still no details
Does it sound like a big change? Yes – but so far, there are no concrete details on how the technical implementation will work.
- Will devices need to be replaced?
- Will a software update be enough?
- Which models will be compatible?
The only thing that’s clear: manual entries at the terminal are a thing of the past – in the future, everything will run automatically through the POS system.
With ASA Pay we are creating a system that will meet all requirements – as soon as they are defined in detail. This way you’ll be on the safe side and won’t have to worry.
In addition: in case of violations, not only fines are expected, but in serious cases also a temporary closure of the business.
What to do until then?
For now: keep the topic on your radar.
There’s no need to change anything yet, but it’s wise to stay informed.
And that’s exactly what we do for you: we gather all the updates and keep you posted.
